What are the best ages for photos?

We get asked a lot about what ages are best. After 10 years we have come to realise that there are better ages than others.

Newborns are best photographed within the first 14 days after birth. Within that time of your baby's life he or she will be at there sleepiest, most settled time. While babies are still sleepy and curled up, we can easily position them into beautiful sleeping

newborn poses. Check out our Newborn photography gallery for some examples.

If you missed out on newborn photos for what ever reason, the next best age is from 12 weeks.

After this time your baby will be smiling having fun during his/her session. We can capture big smiles and cute expressions.

The next best stage after newborn/baby for us is from 7-8 mths. At this time your little one will be starting to sit unaided

for the first time. At this point we can do sitter props, ie buckets, baskets, and little chairs etc This is usually a fun age to photograph

with lots of laughs.

After all of that we offer a cake smash session for first birthdays. A messy celebration to mark your son or daughter's first year of life.
